Mulled Wine – a quickie for two

Ingredients:

½ pint (1 small bottle) Red Wine we used a Merlot from Chile
1 tablespoonful Tiptree Christmas Conserve
Orange or tangerine peel to garnish.

Method

Put Christmas Conserve in a small basin and beat with a fork to soften.
Slowly heat wine in a pan, as it warms remove two tablespoons of wine and add to Christmas Conserve – stir well.
Add Christmas Conserve mixture to wine and heat, taste, but do not boil.
Allow to rest for a few minutes then pour into heat proof glasses; garnish with shreds of orange peel.
