BBC Essex Farmwatch

I was fortunate to work with the BBC’s national “Farmwatch” and Tiptree.  The team from BBC Essex, with presenter Emma Bullimore” ran a 4 hour live broadcast from the secret garden, next to the farm, at Tiptree.

Emma spoke to members of staff, she visited the farm, the factory and the museum and then spoke to the rural dean, young farmers specialising in turkeys and arable as well as a well timed chat with Oliver from Essex Fire & Rescue Service.

There were lots about Farmwatch in the lead up to the programme and clips from the programme were played the next day and were available on BBC Sounds so they could be heard worldwide.

Farmwatch across the country highlighted the work, the livelihood and the current difficulties for the farming community and we all hope it helped create a greater understanding of all the effort that goes into producing our food on a daily basis.
